Parc Guell is a wonderful place to rest a little after visiting all the sites in Barcelona, with nice views of the city.

Perhaps the most wonderful National Park in Europe!

Don't miss the oportunity to take the elevator in the right side of the basilica to visit the upper parts of the buildind and have a wonderful view of Saint Peter's Square and of the main dome from inside. Just dress properly!

It really compensates the whole wait to see it, after hours through the corridors of the Vatican Museums, though the experience can be a bit frustrating due to the lack of enough space for so many people wanting to admire it and because of the security guards, who sometimes are a bit rude.

Extremely beautiful monument in the middle of the Old Centre of Rome, but be prepared to share it with dozens of people any time of the day. Watch out for the pickpockets!

One of the largest cathedrals in the world, the Seville Cathedral is also the place where Columbus rests in peace. The access to the Giralda tower is made through the cathedral. Take a break in the beautiful orange tree patio after the visit and before taking de ramps up to the tower.

One of the most interesting monuments of the world, in my opinion. Centuries and centuries of history, different civilizations and religions, all in one place. To enjoy the place at its best, hire a guide or read a lot before going to visit.

One of the marvels of the world, not be missed on any visit to Rome. To get a real surprise, arrive by metro into Colosseo station and take the stairs to the street - it's much larger than you ever imagined!

To enjoy Topkapi, do your homework: read something about the Ottoman Empire in the internet, rent and audioguide during the visit, AND DON'T FORGET THAT THE HAREM  CLOSES BEFORE THE REST OF THE PALACE!

The compact and interesting centre of Essaouira is a nice place for a walk after a lunch in one of the many restaurantes with a nice sea view. There are dozens of shops, a mousque and some public buildings, but the nicest place is the upper part of the walls, still featuring lots of canyons pointed to the ocean.

To me, it was a great surprise how beautiful and manicured those gardens inside the Alcazar walls were. In spring, flowers of many different colours make everything prettier. I believe that if you've already been to Granada's Alhambra, it may not be that interesting, but if you are visiting Cordoba, it is a place no to be missed. 

The whole area between the Guadalquivir river and the modern city is not to be missed. Walk through the Judería (former Jewish neighbourhood), the Callecita de las Flores (Flowers Alley), enter the Alcazar de los reyes Cristianos and circle around and inside the Mezquita-Cathedral - after all that, cross the river using the Roman Bridge.
