Page 1 of 10 My Reviews![]() Paris, Ile-de-France, France ![]() Added Mar 6, 2011 Paris is nice, even with kids, though a romantic weekend without the kids would be preferable. So much to see, avoid EuroDisney. ![]() New York, New York, United States ![]() Added Mar 6, 2011 My no 1 favourite place in the US, The Big Apple. If there ever was a place where you can find anything, it's this. ![]() Pulau Tioman, East Coast Malaysia, Malaysia ![]() Added Mar 6, 2011 Tiomans golden age was probably in the early 90's. The beaches are still ok, but the infrastructure has decayed somewhat, and the overall experience is far below the island further north. Tioman is still a nice place for snorklers and sun bathers though. ![]() Pulau Perhentian Kecil, East Coast Malaysia, Malaysia ![]() Added Dec 7, 2010 I think all back packers stay at her place on this island. Her fish is legendary. The corals at Perhentian are stunning, and so close to the beach that you don't need a boat. Avoid at monsuun time, the island is deserted as the locals move to inland. ![]() Pulau Pinang, East Coast Malaysia, Malaysia ![]() Added Nov 25, 2010 If you want to see snakes at a close range, actually creeping round your neck, this is the place to be. Very touristic though, no intense ruin explorer thrills here. Just a bunch of agents selling souvenirs and placing the snakes on you for fotographs. You can get there by a local bus. The temple is by the main road around the island. ![]() Islas Canarias, Canarias (Canary Islands) Region, Spain ![]() Added Nov 25, 2010 Simply beautiful. Easy to get all the way to the top, when weather conditions permit. The surrounding wasteland resembles of a moon landscape, in fact I believe some movie shots of 'Planet of Apes' were filmed here. ![]() Rovaniemi, Northern Finland, Finland ![]() Added Nov 25, 2010 If you are planning to go to Santa Park, think twice - unless you're not on any kind of budget. There is virtually nothing to see, but the entrance fee is astronomical. The so called elf workshop is nothing but a souvenir shop, the café is super expensive, the elf school for kids is rediculous etc. Take a picture with you and Santa and be prepared to pay a lot extra for it. The only good thing to say about this place is that it's hidden deep inside a mountain. ![]() Stockholm, Southern Sweden, Sweden ![]() Added Nov 25, 2010 This bar has zillions of different ales from around the world. The norwegian owner can tell you many stories about them. ![]() Billund, Southwestern Denmark, Denmark ![]() Added Apr 19, 2010 Best theme park in the world. Good for kids aswell as adults. Everything is kept in good condition and new gadgets are introduced frequently. Compared to Disney parks, this is a bargain. Best time to go: June. ![]() Tik'al, Peten Region (Northern Guatemala), Guatemala ![]() Added Apr 18, 2010 One of the coolest ruin sites I've seen, and I've seen some. In the depths of the rainforest lies a vast city still waiting to be revealed. There's a lot to see, but still more somewhere in the future when archeologists have cleared the area. Climb up on one of the tall pyramids and enjoy the view over the treetops. Star Wars fans might find the view familiar... ![]() Belize City, Belize City, Belize ![]() Added Apr 18, 2010 Any diving back packer knows Utila and the reefs outside. The island and its surroundings are a back packers heaven. The diving schools are the cheapest in the world, but the instructors are world class. The island is located at a marine park, so the surrounding reefs are untoutched and waters are crystal clear. Take a small five seat airplane from Honduras mainland and enter paradise. ![]() Stone Town, Zanzibar & Pemba, Tanzania ![]() Added Apr 18, 2010 This town is absolutely wonderful. Take the spice tour and learn how spices are grown, stroll the narrow alleys in old town or join the evening bbq on the beach - a back packers heaven. Cheap connections to Mombasa with cargo ships from Zanzibar City - you can sleep outside on the deck. ![]() Enontekio, Northern Finland, Finland ![]() Added Feb 3, 2010 Super sleepy, beautiful in winter time. ![]() Moshi, Northeastern Tanzania, Tanzania ![]() Added Jul 9, 2009 Be prepared for zillions of safari agents in this little town. Beware of cons. In addition to safari tours, you can make day trips, aswell as longer hikings to Kilimanjaro mountain - a beautiful sight.
