The Taos pueblo is one of the most famous living communities among the Pueblo people. I am not a big fan of traveling as a tourist, but I went here when I was about 10 years old and it left an indelible mark on me about cultural differences, cultural respect and a visceral understanding that people were here long before my ancestors first stepped on North America's shores.

Not a bad place to go on a Sunday afternoon in the summer. It isn't anything special, just a nice park with an adjacent zoo. (I'm not a big fan of zoos, but they do have a large area for the bison).
