Angel Canyon is home to the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, the largest no-kill animal sanctuary in the country.  On a given day the Sanctuary is home to over 2,000 dogs, cats, bunnies, birds and other wildlfie who are awaiting a loving forever home.  The sanctuary which is located in beautiful Southern Utah, is visited by over 30,000 visitors and volunteers every year. Their national campaign of No More Homeless Pets aims at education, spay/neuter assistance and many other programs to help reduce the number of unwanted animals destroyed at shelters each year.  Best Friends gained wonderful publicity with the National Geographic 3 part documentary featuring Dogtown in spring 2008.  In the fall of the 2008, additional episodes will be aired on Nat Geo, with one featuring the progress of the Vicktory dogs.  The Victory dogs are 20 or so of the pit bulls confiscated from the property of the convicted dog fighting felon Michael Vick.  Best Friends is a nonprofit organization doing incredible work for the animals while functioning soley off of donations.
