This is not to be missed. The service is impeccable and friendly, the food wonderful and you can't beat the location on the Danube. My idea of paradise.

Port Vila as a town is a big disappointment. The little port is the best place in a town which serves merely as an administrative centre to get further away.

A boring town...the square is busy and pleasant with a few cosmopolitan restaurants, if expensive ones. Nice architecture...

An ideal place to see grannies and other outcasts in a place that looks and feels like the closest outpost to hell.

I detest Dubai so intensely that the only place I would like to find myself in is Emirates' First Class Lounge (where I have been) which is elegant, quiet, and you don't have to go through hellish traffic jams to get here. Otherwise Dubai is a nightmare.

Lovely pancakes in an old wagon. This is in the centre of town and can't be missed. Best thing in Kragujevac, which is a loss of a place in general.

Worth a visit for the atmosphere of the place, and the fortress is clearly the best place to catch the sea view as well as imagine the history of the place. Not overly thrilling, but o.k. for a drive away from Praia.

Zica's red colour stands out among monasteries in Serbia. An interesting site, worth stopping for if you are on the way.

Very pretty walk, flanked by parks and nice buildings, the waves and the occasional departing ship. Plus the horse-drawn trams that go by at regular intervals. The best of Britain.

Nice, with good view of the Danube...

One of the best of its kind in Greece, with little boats taking you down to a rich underearth world with stalactites and the lot. Take a long-sleeve jumper as it is cold here. Queues not too bad even in August as the place is out of the way and the establishment is quite well organised. Excellent, plus a beach right by there. Parking a problem though.

I love Nis, and my favourite hang-out is the Splav (raft) on the Nisava river. You can't miss it, it's right by the central square.

Svinita is a Serbian town in Romania. It is on the Danube and there is little there, but the atmosphere exuding from the decrepit, communist-like Dom Kulture (House of Culture, which is a misnomer, as there is no house and no culture!) will take you back 50 years...

Loutsa sucks in general. Low class and badly planned. But if you have to be there, the obvious choice is the sea. At least you can swim away from Loutsa...

People love Thessaloniki but I can't see why - however Aristotelous square, with its view on the sea, where everyone meets and the city seems to start and end, is really lovely.

This was my favourite place in the world until the old airport closed down. By the golf glub on the road, opposite a pet shop, you can park your car and look at the runway and at the sea in the distance. Until 2001, you could also see the departing planes...

The church that bears my name is at the top of the hill with a panoramic view of Lake Doirani/Dojran below, which crosses the border of two nations. You can sit on a bench here, in pure peace, and dream away...delightful!

The only mosque in Croatia. Surely worth a look, despite its tiny size...

Worthwhile, evoking another era, in the centre of a generally fascinating town that is not to be missed.

Harrow is not a choice place in the first place...

A little outside the town, before it if you are coming from the south, is a marvellous Pottery Place by the beach. You won't be able to resist their wares, which are not cheap but are true works of art!

Vancouver is such a gem and my best memories were right on UBC campus which has a great location at the top of a hill. The whole city rocks - so as I can't choose my favourite, best to choose my old college...

The airport is truly the best thing around in that you can walk on the runway, do your thing, go in and out of the terminal, walk where the plane comes...and all this without any control at all. Nauru is one great place!

This is where I always stay in Hamra. Perfect views from the gym on the 21st floor and very good prices too...

This place is a nice suburb of Dublin and is a good place to visit a castle (though this is a rip-off imho). The centre is cute and the walk by the pier very pleasing on a sunny day.

Just a short drive from the centre uphill and you get a nice view of the whole bay along with cannons left from the Spanish era. Not bad really, though Guam in general is short on sites...

A no-brainer really, in Plitvice you go to the Plitvice Lakes. And here you just stand and marvel at nature...and never get enough. One of the wonders of the world for sure.

An old classic in Apia and well deserved for its whole atmosphere in a town that is a gem in itself...

Extremely interesting, scary and bizzare and certainly worth a visit for reminding one of the horrors of a regime long gone, at least in Lithuania...

Lindos is one of the most beautiful places in Greece!

This is the best place in an awful town and even so only makes one star. Bad service and old rooms. Avoid Libreville if possible...

Like entering a fairy tale, with waiters to match, this place in Zagreb's old town makes great coffee and even greater cakes, plus evoking a feeling of being in a story within a setting which is itself idyllic as is Zagreb's old town.

Great sea, sun and people watching...

With a view of most of the city and an atmosphere of relaxation in what is otherwise urban hell, this gets my vote of confidence as the place I want to be in when in London...

Quiet and isolated, an oasis of peace amidst beautiful rugged scenery and crystal clear waters.

Considering you are in a savage land, this is really great. And Mr. Levy who is from Israel will provide philosophical conversation in a land where you really don't expect this!

A great place to get away from it all!

Compared to the state of the town, the resort area 5 mins away by the lake is like true paradise...
