Twenty-five years ago! There was a great tea house right in the middle of town and there was a market every Saturday where you could buy some meat in case you wanted some later on your trek. There was very little meat in the villages after Namche Bazar in those days.

I don't think tourists are allowed into Saudi Arabia. You have to be sponsored by a family member or a company you are working for to even get into the country.

It's huge with something for everyone. Worth the trip.
