With the creation of the new dam in Andong, an old town was submerged in a lake with the dislocated water.  During the constrcution of the dam, a family has meticulously transferred their ancestral village piece per piece up the nearby mountains.  The place now serves as an artist colony, where artists can stay there to finish work while being tucked in the middle of nature.

Feed the elephants, play with the calves, watch them take a bath!

Be a novice monk for a night or a week.  Wear a monk uniform, wake up at 3 am in the morning to do the morning service, and figure out life's meaning through Koans with the master monk while trying to keep yourself awake at 4 am. 

A great alternative to the tourist(-trap) islands of Thailand.  Huahin still has a good mix of locals and foreign tourists. 

Quiet cove.  You have go out in the middle of the sea to get a mobile signal.  Perfect to get away from the rest of civilization.
