They have a terrace in the back. They only have menus for 12 euros where you choose a first course and a main meal. Including bread, a drink and a desert. Mushrooms: come as sort of ratatouille. vegetables are slightly overcooked. beans with ham are okey, but not very spiced. leek is okey, slightly overcooked, but the sauce is good. Calamaritos: those are not the fried ones, its the fresh ones that are calles sepias. they were very sandy. I did not like it. Meat balls: not very good. lenguado: good. merluza: good. as desert yo can choose between different fruits ( an apple, a banana, etc) or mousse (coffee, strawberry, yoghurt). Take a fruit. The mousse is artifical and tastes like those papers you can eat.. uuurks
Mejillones marinera: okey, but no revelation. chicken filet with mustard sauce: good. Almejas: very good. Tortilla española: too little salt, not very tasty. calamares fritos: not very good. Filete de cerdo: good. rape: very good. patatas fritas: not salted, not very good. For ice-creams, this is the place to go! Its about the only restaurant there where you'll find other than pre-fabricated synthetic deserts. I can warmly recommend the ice-creams, they are excellent! They also have very good mojitos ;)
Apart from the main season there is no nightlife going on at all. The cocktails are not good: all are served in the same glass, taste like sirup and are mostly made up of crushed ice.
The gazpacho andaluz is very good. The pollo al ajillo is very good. The gambas al pil-pil are good but not spicy. The calamares fritos are very good. Bacalao al perejil: very good. Zarzuela de mariscos y pescado: good, but not very spiced.
Its the meeting point of young and old and the center of the city, from there you can go to different shopping streets. Theres a McDonald. Often theres some kind of show or attraction on the large place in front of the historical mueseum.
The waiters are very friendly. The langostinos a la plancha are very good, put some lemon on it, its even better! The pollo al ajillo: The chicken pieces are too big, most of the time you don't really taste the garlic sauce. Fileta de ternera: good. Gambas al pil-pil: good. They have very good homemade deserts.
They have only small bottles of water (0,5l). The mixed salad contains: tuna, maize, tomato, olives, salad, eggs, pepperoni, onions. The filled avocados with shrimps is very good. The spinach with white cheese is very good. The cod fish is very good. The goat cheese with caramelized apples is very good. The lemon sorbet is fluid and very good. The walnut cake is very good.
It's the first Restaurant on the beach, right in the corner. There's a singer with a guitar and they put spices for salad on the table and ice for the water. The staff is very friendly. They bring appetizers. The paella is very good.
It's situated on a large place right when you come down from the Alhambra. It's quite expensive and taxes are not included. The service is catastrophic, the waiter does not write down, but then comes back and asks again and again what you ordered. They also brought the wrong dishes and forgot one. When we paid they forgot to bring the change back. The spicy chicken wings with fries are not eatable at all. The sight only makes you loose appetite. The chicken wings are way too salty and the pommes not at all. The chicken nuggets look like they were made with tuna and are not very good, but eatable. The cod fish nuggets was the only dish that was quite good. The paella is ok. The salad with dry tomatoes and cheese is too salty. The calamares with fries and salad is barely eatable. The ternera is not very good. The poulet is ok. DONT GO THERE! YOU'LL ONLY REGRET IT!
Situated in the rocks, overlooking the sea. 10min walking from Herradura beach. Beautiful view. Outside there is an infinity pool, stairs down to the sea and chairs too lie in. There is also a dining table and you can go up on the roof. Inside there are 3 bedrooms and at least 8 beds. There are shower and toilets in every bedroom. Next to the kitchen there is a washing machine for your laundry. There is alos a drinking water tap, so you don't have to buy bottled water. There is a pool table in the living room. There is a TV and lots of movies but when we were there it didin't work. There is a gardener and a pool guy who tend to the outside.
It's situated right on the beach. We had: garlic soup, mixed salad, salad with seafood, seafood soup, fishersoup, avocado with shrimp, calamares, pulpo a la gallega, gambas al pil-pil, tortilla de gambas, tortilla española, merluza, bardillo vine, chocolate mousse, delicias frutas, coconut ice-cream. The garlic soup had lots of bread and egg in it. The mixed salad had no dressing and there was none on the table and the person did not like it. The seafood salad was very good. The seafood soup itself was not so good, rather the seafood inside. The fishersoup was also not very good. The avocado with shrimp were good. The Calamares were also good, but had no sauce or dressing whatsoever. The pulpo a la gallega was very good. The gambas al pil-pil were not very good, too much fat and not spicy at all. The tortilla de gambas, tortilla espanola and merluza were all very good. The pommes were not very good, too oily and not salty enough. The bardillo vine was very good. The deserts were all tasting artificial, go rather to a nearby heladeria and buy homemade ice-cream there. The WIFI-Password is: 82722.
Palaces and gardens built by the arabiens between the 13th and the 15th century. It's the most visited building in Spain so you should buy tickets in advance on the internet. One general entry costs 13 euros. always keep your ticket with you, there will be several controls. You should count in half a day for visiting. The general visit also includes the Generalife, the summer palace of the sultans with lots of gardens around it. Somewhere between Alhambra and Generalife there is a photostudio where you can dress as arabiens, its very funny and costs around 5 euros per person. The gardens and the view of granada are great and the carvings in walls and ceilings quite impressive but after a while you've seen it...
It's near the cathedral, when you walk down. You should go there if you're tired of looking and very hungry. It's very cheap. You can have a whole menu (first, second, dessert, bread & coffee) for 10 euros. For starters my partner had a russian salad, which he liked and I had a tortilla españa, which was okey. Then we both had a beef-steak with pommes and salad. The steak was very thin and not very tasty. The pommes you have to salt some more. As a finish we had Ice-cream which you can't choose, you just get a bowl with 2 flavours, chocolate and strawberry. The bread was good. If you have to go to the toilet I recommend you take some paper with you. Maybe you're lucky, but when I went there wasn't any. All in all it was okey for the price we paid. Plus the dishes came fast, you didn't have to wait at all.
My Partner and me had together an ensalada (normal salad) for 3.50 euros, gambas ajillo (garlic prawns) for 10 euros and pulpo (squid) for 10 euros and an icetea and a coke for 1.30 euros each. Everything was very good, the food maybe a little too salty. Plus we didn't have to wait long, the dishes came one after the other.
From Cala Marcal (Porto Colom) the journey takes about 50min with the bus and costs 4.10 euros. The entry costs 10.50 euros (I have bons which take 3 euros off per person, so if you're interested contact me and i'll send them to you for free). The tour takes place on every full hour (10, 11, 12...) and takes about 1h. Close to the end there is a show on the lake Martel, with live music on boats and a light show. The caverns are impressive and very beautiful. The guide speaks spanish, engish, german and french. Unfrotunately you are not allowed to take pictures, because they want to sell them at the end! From the caverns you can walk to Porto Cristo in 5min.
Actually it is situated in Cala Marcal, a little village next to Porto Colom. The rooms for 2 persons are small. There is a very small TV and a balcony where you can hang wet things. the rooms are not isolated so you hear quite well when there's noise in the apartment next to you. There is a small cooking area and a fridge. there are no double beds, the beds are separated. There is a pool with chairs to rest. The pool is cool which makes you want to jump in every five minutes when it's really hot. The beach is about 5 minutes from the hotel. As for all of Spain, do not drink the water! It does not smell very apetizing anyway. There is a Spar 5 minutes from the hotel where you can buy all the things you need.
When you arrive your luggage might be on the row next to the one assigned to it. The bus number 1 takes you to the station plaça espanya from where all the busses leave to the different parts of the island. The ride costs 2 euros. To return: From Cala Marcal (Porto Colom) the journey takes about 1h30 with the bus and costs 5.55 euros. You have to change busses in Felanitx. The airport does not have luggage-keeping, so you have to take your luggage anywhere you go no matter how long you have to wait for your flight. Before security check there is not much diversion for the waiting. There is a café, a small restaurant and a magazine shop on the upper floor. If you want to know how much your luggage weights just put it on one of the closed check-ins. After security check there are several duty free shops and for the hungry there is McDonalds, Burger King and Pizza Hut. The food there is a little more expensive than in the city itself.
From Cala Marcal (Porto Colom) the journey takes about 1h15 with the bus and costs 5.30 euros. The entry to the Safari costs 15 euros for adults and 10 euros for children. You can choose between taking a car or riding with the little train. You will see different antilopes, gnus, zebras, rhinos, monkeys, birds and hippos. The difference to a normal zoo is that there is no fence between you and the animals. You are allowed to take as much pictures as you like. It is forbidden to step out of the vehicule. After the tour there is an area where it's like a normal zoo. You can see monkeys, reptiles, lions and tigers behind bars. There is also a petting zoo for children. At the end you can visit 2 shows. One is a magician's and the other is with wild cats. The magician's starts first at 12.15 and is quite ok. You are not allowed to take pictures though. At the end of the show you can take a picture with a live snake for 10 euros. The show with the wild cats is rather unspectacular. At the end you can take a picture with a baby lion for 10 euros. From the Safari there is a free bus which takes you to Cala Millor in 10 minutes.
If you dont mind the carbohydrates and the fat I recommend u eat there, it's good and it's cheap and the burgers are better than at mcdonals (and bigger!).
