The gold shops are worth window shopping around. Even if it is just to look at some of the huge (and often ugly) rings.

I came home with a small diamond ring for about a 30% discount on the price in Australia.

Shops are very touristy, but its nice and cool, impressive to see the building. Good selection of places to get a cold drink.
There is a Dome cafe and just near that is an outdoor terrace with a fountain and a very impressive view of Burj Al Arab, especially at nighttime with the lights on.

Very well laid out the way the water slides are interconnected. We were in the park during Ramadan and they were serving up food and drinks all day long.

couldn't get tickets for twin towers and went here instead. well worth the visit, there is a shuttle bus that is free that you can catch up the hill to the entrance.

A decent climb up the steps thru the markets to get there. Very peaceful once you get to the top and inside the temple, great views down over Penang.
Must see thing to do in Penang.

great shopping centre to eat at.

huge food court which cheap and tasty food, huge varitey with the bonus of airconditioning and clean toilets.
there is also lots of sit down restaurants, there is a malaysia place called mama's something, it was fantastic, the indian place was pretty good too. 

There are some nice bars where you can sit at tables on the sand and watch the sun go down with a cold beer.

night markets and restaurants make the place busier after dark.

we where there an hour and a half before they gave out tickets, it wasn't early enough.

We went on a day drip to Phi Phi island from Phuket.
The cove made by the limestone cliffs makes the beach very protected and pretty. we also stopped at Monkey beach which was dirty, heaps of rubbish lying around.

A must see in Kyoto. You can take beautiful photos reflecting across the lake.
When we were there a group of local school children were asking tourists questions to practice english.

Peaceful, yet very sad to think humans can do that to each other.
You can catch the train for the day from Kyoto. Make sure you visit the nearby peace museum. 

Nice view back to the city, pretty man made beach would be a great place to cool down on a summer day (didn't know it was there before we went so were not prepared for swimming)

You can catch the Staten Island ferry for free. (don't get off nothing to see there just do the return trip). Goes past the statue of Liberty and you get a great view of the Harbour.

Closed on Tuesdays, missed out on going inside because didn't know this until it was too late.

Fresh food section is good if that's what your looking for, Lots of the other stalls sell the same stuff you can get world over at markets and discount stores. lots of clothing stalls last time I went.

Have dinner at one of the restaurants looking back over the city, Hurricanes grills and the Thai place are both good, there is a food hall down stairs if you are on a smaller budget. 

Have to try the Beignets (little sugared covered donut type sweets)

fantastic building which is worth seeing in its self. I found the art here more memorable than in a big museum such as the hermitage or the Louvre, being a smaller collection you can spend more time appreciating pieces without feeling overwhelmed.

I did a Mike's Bike day tour from Munich out on the train and that was fantastic, highly recommend.

Good museum and history boards, would have liked to see beer actually being made.

Nice bar at the end to consume the free samples.

Fun and pretty. Very expensive if travelling on the Aussie dollar. When we were there (August) rides where free for one hour each night. fun to go at night time just as its getting dark and the fairy lights turn on.

Good way to spend an afternoon walking around, even if it is just to look at the run down state the place is now in (like the unused ferris wheel with grass growing out of it). Grab an ice cream or some pop-corn and compare the safety standards many other places in the world as you stroll. 

Go early in the day when lots of the tour groups haven't arrived yet, then go back after lunch when its busy, totally different vibe.
We also got there one morning when it was pouring rain and you could have counted the people on your hands, magical!.

Fun well set out museum, I have a new level of appreciation for the Nobel prize winners now and what the prize stands for. There is a cool track running around the roof with all the past winners and information about them, I could have sat reading them for hours.

Lots or old buildings and animals to see, lovely to walk around in the sun. Beautiful views back across to the city. An oasis in the middle of the Harbour. In many places this place would have been bulldozed and apartments put up.

great meals

Catch the ferry from Circular Quay, although there is no commentary like Harbour cruises its a nice view and relaxing trip.
Manly beach is very pretty, its an easy walk around to Shelly Beach  (head right when facing the ocean past the rocks along the path).
Manly has lots of outdoor cafes for a nice meal, or takeway to eat on the beach.

On a nice sunny day, catch the train to Milson's Point (first station over the bridge north) walk back into the city on the eastern footpath, the view isn't as great as from the top, but still pretty good.

Go up just before sunset, there is no limit on the time you can stay up the top. Watch the city transform from day to night. Skip the audio tour, the cash would be better spent on a beer.

Lots of roller coasters and Water rides.  Not a lot of themes but a lot of thrills.

Universal was a disappointment to me. We were there in Feb, they staggered opening times for the rides, no atmosphere we have photos were we where the only people on the street. Only one place to eat open at lunch time. I would have preferred an extra day at sea-world or Disney. Islands of adventure was better if you are into roller coasters (I'm not).

Best thing about universal was the little magic shop with the guy doing tricks and the Spiderman ride.

Disney World is one of those places you have to see to believe.
My Husband and I have been twice yet we live one the other side of the world and don't have kids. You become a big kid again when you get drawn in by the rides, parades, popcorn and overall Disney magic. Stay at one of the Disney hotels and get a hopper pass ticket and take advantage of the transport system. Disney also do great behind the scenes tours, were you can experience how they make the Disney magic, worth every penny!

This place really gets the heart pumping. Being in such close proximity to tigers is a unique feeling. If your an animal lover don't miss, Its a once in a life time experience.  We were a group of 8 and hired a mini van (taxi) and went from Bangkok for the day, cheaper than organised tours.
