They have the most beautiful houses on this strip in these amazing colors.  There is a pink house and on the porch is has this very very long bench with rockers on each side.  People would stand on these rockers at the end of the bench and rock people back and forth.

This is the cleanest beach I have ever been to.  It is also all soft sand and beautiful.

-Frank Lloyd Wright, 1936 With these words, renowned American architect Frank Lloyd Wright put forth a challenge that he would grapple with for many years.   His solution–the Usonian house –was a modestly-scaled family dwelling that was (relatively) affordable, designed for modern family life, and responded to the surrounding environment.  The Pope-Leighey House is a classic example of this type of architecture and of mid-20th century design. Commissioned in 1939 by journalist Loren Pope, the Usonian home was a manifesto of Wright’s belief in American design for the people, unburdened by past architectural traditions.   Wright’s innovative use of four natural materials (wood, brick, glass and concrete) created a sense of a large, more spacious abode - in only 1,200 square feet.  In 1964, Mrs. Marjorie Leighey, the second owner of the house, donated the house and its furnishings to the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Scheduled for demolition due to highway construction at its original Falls Church, Virginia location, the house was relocated to the grounds of Woodlawn.

My favorite Musuem is the history museums.  My favorite exhibit was dresses of the president's wives that they wore to the ball.

The second best museum I've been to.

I was never really into art very much before this trip.  When I went to the Van Gough Museum I really started to look at the paintings.  His techniques are truely amazing.  He is my favorite artist.  I really like his self portraits the best.

Gaudi is a true artist.  This church will be completed 2036.

The hike up wasn't bad at all.  The view was breathtaking.

Lots of neat trails for hiking or you can rent a little mo-ped.  I went cliff diving there.
