Aisling Irwin has been visiting Cape Verde for more than two decades. Her Bradt guide to the country, co-authored with Colum Wilson, was first published in 1998 and is now in its fourth edition. Aisling is news and features editor for SciDev.Net, a website covering science, health and technology issues for the developing world. She has won several prizes for her feature writing and has contributed to books on a variety of subjects, including Bradt’s guide to solar eclipses over Africa. With Colum, she is also the author of In Quest of Livingstone: A Journey to the Four Fountains, about their retracing of David Livingstone’s last journey.
