Hi I'm Emilie. I am a french graduate student. I am currently involved in an exchange program in public relations and advertising at FIU, Miami. I am vegan and really active into protecting nature and animals.
Ocean Drive is located in South Beach right in front of the beach. The day, it's rather empty because people are tanning but at night it's overcrowded with restaurants all along!! If you like Indian food go eat at ISHQ by night on 530 Ocean Drive! It's really good with vegetarian and vegan alternatives! If you go at 229 8th Street, there's a multi-brands store for girls really cool!! Restaurants and shopping are a bit expensive but the architecture and atmosphere are amazing.
This is a nice hotel with a very design and modern decoration. It is located 10 minutes walking from the beach and Ocean Drive. The staff is nice and there is a solarium and jacuzzi. You can take the breakfast in the lobby for 5 dollars per person. The rooms are clean and you can have a room service everyday if you want to.
This is a place to sleep and that's all. It's a place for limited budgets. The bathrooms are not always clean and are shared with other travelers. The rooms are old and it's often noisy at night. I was on the first floor and I was awaken by people climbing the stairs every night. However it's a good location, 10 minutes walking from Central park, the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Natural History station. There is the Blossom Cafe 5 minutes walking away, a Starbucks and restaurants all around.
The rooms are clean but sometimes a bit old. The room service is done everyday. There are not a lot of insects (I found only two insects inside the apartment in 2 weeks). There's a private balcony or patio for every room. There are animals living freely on the site (flamingo, peacock, goose, etc). A train is available to cross the site.
The atmosphere and decoration are modern and clean. The vegan pizza are excellent and you can create your own. You can choose the type of pizza bread you prefer. I recommend the organic black cherry soda and vegan brownie. The service is really good with nice waiters and waitresses.
This is an organic vegetarian and vegan restaurant close to Central Park. The service is great, the food is excellent and creative. Try the fresh-made juices!!
This is the best restaurant I found on South Beach. I would recommend it for exotic food lovers. You can choose your spicy preferences on a 3 points scale. There are vegetarian and vegan options. It's a bit expensive but the cuisine worth it.
