Matemo is a true paradise in the North of Mozambique. The white sand and the clear, blue waters make it an island similar to any in the Maldives or Seychelles, but Matemo has only one lodge. Unfortunately the price you pay for this so called 5-star lodge is too high for what you get, in terms of service, food quality. The beach itself is the most amazing place and the little houses are located 10-feet away of the sea, so it's great to wake up and go immediately for a dive. It's also worth going for a tour in the island, meeting the locals, chatting a bit with them. 99% of them are muslims and the womem wear a special beauty mask which makes their faces white.
