Sighisoara has German and Hungarian names too: German = Schassburg, Hungarian = Segesvár. In 1849 near this town fought Hungarians against Habsburg (Austrian) Emperor. Here was lost in the fight the famous Hungarian poet, Sándor Petőfi. The battle was won by Austria.
