Unique, essence of the USA, monotonous architecture is a minus.

Isle of Arran is generally my favourite place in all of Scotland. As it is said, it's "Scotland in miniature", and this is undisputable. If you are a regular tourist and don't really want to climb Goatfell, or try evading sheep excrements on your way to Machrie Moor, then what you've come for to see on Isle of Arran was Brodick Castle. Situated just outside of Brodick, the largest village on the isle, is a place that you can easily get to by car, bike, or foot. Besides visiting the castle itself (the best day to do that is Sunday, when some people dress like if it was 19th century and play roles of inhabitants of the castle), it is also worth seeing the vast gardens. There is an English style garden, as well as French style garden, called The Walled Garden. The area around the castle is absolutely beautiful, and you will definitely love to take a walk around the nice collection of trees there. I would suggest you would not be getting out the same way you got in - that is through the main gate (and that is why it's best to get to the castle by foot). Instead you might want to take the pathway leading to the end of the property to the South. After a kilometer or so you will see some single stones, put vertically into the ground (similar to those found in Machrie Moor). They are on a private property though, so I guess you can't get very close to them, unless you ask the owner of the land. You will also be able to admire to beautiful view at the astounding Glen Rosa. If you're done with teh castle, you might want to visit the brewery in the North of the island, or visit the 10 thousand year old tombs in the very South (if you're lucky you might even see Ireland at good atmospheric conditions).
