Page 1 of 10 My Reviews![]() Thibodaux, Louisiana, United States ![]() Added Dec 5, 2009 Pepper's is small, but manages to retain a bustling business including students, families, and young professionals. The food is delicious, the ambience charming, and you can keep up w/ your teams w/the multiple televisions. ![]() Maggie Valley, North Carolina, United States ![]() Added Dec 5, 2009 Ride the ski lift up to the park. a pic will be taken which you can choose to buy or not. take old fashioned pics in costume. ride a roller coaster that goes just slightly over the side of the mountain. lots of fun and gorgeous views. ![]() Grand Isle, Louisiana, United States ![]() Added Aug 6, 2009 Grand Isle State Park is @ the end of La. 1. It's actually part of Jefferson Parish, not Lafourche. Watch the speed limit signs, and obey them--especially when going through Golden Meadow (which you'll have to drive through to get to the Isle. There is some road construction going on in Leeville (another town you'll be driving through en route--they're building a new bridge to Port Fouchon--stop and grab a bite to eat @ Anthony's restaurant--the food is great). The island has suffered some hurricane damage throughout the years, but these are tenacious people--they don't give up easily. There are homes and camps of varying states of repair and disrepair, and surprisinly really nice camps--some of which can be rented out. There are a few motels, but i would advise a camp if sleeping on the beach is not your thing. It's not a touristy town @ all. There is one huge event that takes place in the last wknd of July--The Grand Isle International Tarpon Rodeo--which is a huge fishing rodeo. It always attracts a large crowd of locals, tourist and die-hard fishermen!! There's a lot of partying going on that wknd and if you don't plan way ahead you can forget about finding anywhere on the island to stay. The park itself has overnight facilities, a picnic area, and showers. You'll have to park your vehicle in a lot in front of the showers as there are no vehicles allowed on the beach in that area. It had an observation tower and fishing pier, but I haven't been back since the last hurricane so I don't know if those have been rebuilt or not. From the pier you can see the ruins of an old British fort which I believe may have been utilized during the Battle of 1812. You may even be able to charter a boat to get a closer view of the fort. If camping in the park, check the wind direction--we had a strong wind coming in from the gulf and had to keep repitching our tent because it kept blowing down over us. It was funny as heck--I thought so, but my then-husband was miserable the whole time. That was the best camping trip I ever had. Although I think he would beg to differ!! ![]() Venice, Veneto Region, Italy ![]() Added Jul 28, 2009 Amazing. I didn't want to leave. Save your shopping for the stores away from the square, you'll get better deals ![]() Pompei, Campania Region, Italy ![]() Added Jul 17, 2009 Well it was a heck of a lot bigger than i had invisioned--which was nice and a bit overwhelming. I was really impressed w/the frescoes still found in some of the homes. I would definitely go back. The cameos were exquisite. I bought a few while there. And of course the food was amazing. I fell in love w/all of Italy and would love nothing better than to retire there. ![]() Bedford, England, United Kingdom ![]() Added Jul 17, 2009 Have never seen so many swans in one place. absolutely gorgeous. took lots of pics. fed the swans--right out of my hands!! The river runs right beside the hotel which was nice and sadly i can't remember its name @ the moment but will input @ a later date. took a walk @ night over the bridge to get a better and less package tour feeling for the place. walked a few blocks and took more pics! it was one of my favorite places in England. I also was able to see some rowers which i was really hoping to see. there's a rowing club on the river right next door to the hotel. ![]() McPherson, Kansas, United States ![]() Added Jul 17, 2009 Great food but i had to pass on the buffalo steak. so glad i did 'cause the following sun. we visited a wildlife preserve and saw baby buffalo playing--they were jumping around like lil lambs!! who knew such a sad-looking animal could be so playful!! really glad i passed on the b-steak. i would have felt awful. ![]() Thibodaux, Louisiana, United States ![]() Added Jul 17, 2009 located inside an antique store on St Mary St. , the Demitasse is a quaint spot w/lots of ambience. It also boasts outside tables and is not far from the Library (not to be confused w/the bar "the Library, which is located on the corner of 3rd and St. phillip st.) which has an interesting if small museum of Cajun artifacts(The museum, not the bar.)--a must see!!
