This is by far the nicest part of Paris! Great views thanks to it's elevation, a nice cathedral, painters and other visual artists working in the streets, the Dali Museum, the knowledge that Vincent van Gogh lived and worked there, and great food (try a cheese platter!)

De Kuip (actual name is "Stadion Feijenoord", named after the area of Rotterdam where it's located) is one of the largest stadiums in The Netherlands, and holds some 52.000. It is primarily used bij football club Feijenoord, but also hosts concerts. The acoustics in this stadium during concerts are very good.

The Keukenhof isn't in Amsterdam; it's in Lisse. Lisse is a village in what is known as the "Bollenstreek" or flower bulb area.

Very strange world famous architecture. These buildings are in the city centre, and you can actually drive right underneath them. Must be very impractical to live in though...

What is now called the "old harbour" is the part of the old Rotterdam harbour that wasn't lost during the bombing raid in 1940 during WW2. It gives the same old-fashioned Dutch feeling that the Amsterdam canals do. Well worth taking a look at if you happen to be in the city; makes a nice change of all the modern-day architecture.

Just a means of getting from one end of the city to the other. You can get a nice view of the city from this bridge though. The nearby "Erasmusbrug" is a more interesting bridge.

A small park with a small waterfall, worth taking a stroll if you happen to be near. Always liked the smell of a forest! Somewhere on the grounds there's an old manor house.

They have it all here; lots of traffic, an Egyptian obelisk and Louis XVI's head was cut off here too. Nice...

Didn't actually "go for the ride" as I walked past it when it was still lying on it's side. I saw it standing some years later when I flew over it when on route to Cuba. Looked amazing!

In one word: amazing. A prime example of Gothic architecture.

A small hotel, nicely located in the fashionable Parisian district "Le Marais", just around the corner from Place de la Republique, on Rue Meslay. The rooms are small but tidy. All rooms have a color TV, but the set is small and gives a very distorted picture (but who needs TV when staying in a city like Paris?). The biggest drawback of this hotel are the miniscule bathrooms; they're very small. The hotel has an elevator (small, but works most of the time) and serves French breakfast (won't fill your stomach, as anyone who's ever stayed in France will know). The staff are friendly, and do speak English, which is quite unique in Paris. A major subway station is located just around the corner, and the area is crammed with restaurants, bars and bistro's. An ideal starting point for people who want to check out Paris' hippest neighborhood and who don't care too much about luxury.

Awesome place with a huge amount of old and new records. The owner always wears the same sweater. Lot's of funny stuff and accidents happen there on Sundays

Busy. Very very busy.

This woman was insane; she had a mock village built just so she could play milk maid, while the people of France were starving. It's no wonder they took off her head... Very impressive palace though, Versailles is a must see when in Paris.

Very nice building, tough not as old as you might expect. Take a stroll through it, and close off with a drink in one of the bars right next door in Montmartre.

It can be very hard to actually get to the top. Nearby Tour Montparnasse is almost as high and has the fastest elevator in Europe.

The world's grandest railway museum, period!

The beaches at Varadero are overrated I think; the ones at Guardalavaca are much nicer and less crowded.

I gave it 5 stars but would rather give it 10 if I could. This place just oozes history!

Beautiful hall with an amazing ceiling wich you are not allowed to take pictures or images of...

The building is majestic and awe inspiring, however ques are horrendously long, the trip to the top is expensive (yes; climbing the stairs is cheaper than taking one of the elevators, but the stairs don't go all the way to the 3rd platform, and staff are tipically French; enough said...)

When in England, visit as many old grand cathedrals as you can, this is one that should be on your list!

You'll have an awesome view of the countryside from the Tor. The picture above is not the Tor by the way; it was probably taken from the nearby ruins of what was at one time Glastonbury Abbey (before Henry VIII's dissolution of the monestaries)

The castle in the picture, het Muiderslot, is the finest medieval castle in the Netherlands. It's nothing like the castles in Britain, but worth a visit anyway.

This lighthouse is located on a small Dutch island, which is well worth a visit if you ever come to The Netehrlands.

Europe's space centre. It houses a very informative exposition and museum.

Absolutely beautiful in summertime! Take a stroll along the banks or a boat ride in Venetian style.

The fastest way to get into England.

One of the nicest boulevards in The Netherlands. Lot's of good restaurants and a large pier.

This is not your average hotel, this consits of a lot of cabins which look a bit like old Taino huts. (the Taino were the original inhabitants of Cuba) The place has a nice feel to it and has a reasonable restaurant for Cuban standards. It also hosts a "fashion show" in the evening sometimes, which consits of very cute local ladies parading along the side of the swimming pool in bright colors to music coming from a very run-down cassette player. I liked this place, and it's very near the Che Guevara Mausoleum.

At 110 m, this is a very impressive masonic building. A church was once attached to it, but it was destroyed by a tornado ages ago.

Tried my hand at snowboarding here once, what a disaster! Had lot's of fun though!

Oostende really is a ghastly place, very grey and depressing. Just take the next ferry to England.

The name of this town alone makes it worth a visit.

Great Yarmouth is nicely located, but has lost it's former glory sadly.

Never seen ice skating there, just visited a concert. Nothing special to see here.

The Weighing House, or "De heksenwaag" in Dutch, is not in Gouda; it's in Oudewater. Here women suspected to be witches were weighed in order to find out if they really were witches. This place is not comparable to a place like Salem in the USA though; no woman was condemned to death.

Be in 3 countries at the same time; The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany! Drielandenpunt has a tower from which you have a view of the 3 countries, and is located at the highest point in The Netherlands (328 m above sea level, which is very high for Dutch standards!) The park also has a maze made of hedges, a shooting range and a playground for the little ones.

The Grote Markt is a beautiful historical square surrounded by bar's and cafe's, well worth a visit!
