Santa Monica is a nice city. The 3rd street promenade is ok..there is just too many beggars and people wanting you to sign some petition for something. The beach is only good for the bike Path, thats it. it's Dirty, crowded and did i mention dirty. If you really want to go to a clean beach, try going half a mile up the coast to Will Rodgers State beach...it's HUGE and SUPER CLEAN....and its not even half a mile away from Santamonica Beach...you can take the bike path and it will lead you right to it. I'm sorry but going to Santamonica Beach is just not healthy or safe. I would Look north of santamonica if you really want to have a good day at the beach. ![]() Gilroy, California, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 Good place to get some last min shopping done before the long drive home. ![]() Las Vegas, Nevada, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 it's some thing to see, but the are still need alot of cleaning up. Beware of pick pockets and thieves while watching street performers in big crowds. may look like its for the whole family, but i would leave the kids on the strip. ![]() Teton Village, Wyoming, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 Love it!!! and the town is something out of the pages of a old western. Love it, bring your wallet. ![]() Las Vegas, Nevada, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 If you make reservations for dinner the elevator ride is free. It is absolutely incredible having dinner at the top of the stratosphere. The views will leave you breathless. My Wife surprised me with a birthday dinner here at the top of the world restaurant. The food is as good as the view and any seat is a good seat since the restaurant rotates. After Dinner you can take a walk outside on the viewing deck and if your brave enough take a ride on one of there thrill roller coasters or just take in the beauty of the Las Vegas lights. It's a very romantic spot. ![]() San Francisco, California, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 The best picture are from the bottom of the street looking up. There are always going to be alot of tourist taking pictures so pick a side and shoot away. you can also get great shots if you walk half way up the street and shoot cars as they drive down. This is one of San Frans most famous spots and is not something you should miss. The bragging rights alone to your friends who have never been is worth the stop. You can also get a great shot of Alcatraz from that street. ![]() San Simeon, California, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 Its a beautiful Place. The attention in detail that the staff has put in to keep this historical site intact is just grand. Even the Ketchup bottles in the dining room were from that time and still full. I would love to come back in the summer or spring when they do there murder mystery. ![]() South Lake Tahoe, California, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 I went to Heavenly in South Lake Tahoe last year and man was that a trip. Big Bear, Mountain High and other local spot have nothing like Lake Tahoe. The Ride alone on the Gun barrel lift is just fantastic. Lots to see and lots to do. if your not into riding the slopes , maybe you can ride the card tables or slots at the casinos. My Friends and Family stayed in a rental house...money well spent...no waiting in line for the bathroom. I suggest getting a rental and don't forget the chains ...but if you got a 4 wheel drive you'll be fine. I LOVE LAKE TAHOE! ![]() Morro Bay, California, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 Nice to see and take a picture in front of...thats about it. it's really rocky and the fishing isnt that great. Also gets really windy. Great place to feed the Millions of sea gulls who like to poop on your car. ![]() Salt Lake City, Utah, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 it's not so great any more...when we went the lake was drying up and the smell was not so pleasant. We went to some building which "back then sat on stilts over the water, but now sits on stilts over dry land. ![]() Las Vegas, Nevada, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 it's a great free show. Vegas is always so busy it nice to just stop and watch. Catching the show from the the restaurant inside the Bellagio is the way to go, but the side walk also delivers the same grandeur. Please make sure to watch your belongings when standing in big crowds...thats where pick pockets and thieves thrive. ![]() Los Angeles, California, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 Living here doesn't make Universal as exciting, since i can visit any time, but coming from a tourist point of view it's worth 1 day of my time. Universal Studios is a unique studio, more like a theme park. It has rides and attractions based on movies and tv shows and it gives you that "hollywood-ised" look into tinsel town. City Walk which is just outside the main entrance is a great place to buy some souvenirs and grab a bite to eat. there are movie theaters and tons things to buy and see. It does get a bit windy at night so a light jacket could save you from getting the cold. For those of you who like seeing amusement style parks..this is the place for you. for those of you who like to see how movies are really made and what really goes on in everyday Hollywood, may i suggest Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank. It's a more in depth tour of an actual working movie lot, it's not a Tram ride...more like a Golf cart limo. ![]() Los Angeles, California, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 It is the home of the WORLD CHAMPION LAKERS! it's also a great place to watch the Clippers, Kings, Sparks and all concerts. Getting in and out of the Staple center is easy. Parking outside is preferred because you dont want to get stuck in traffic and the parking is steep$ 20 i think. There is a lot more to do with the New Nokia Live next door with shops and places to eat. Coming soon will be a Promenade style area around the Dodgers stadium. it's a few years away, but is Long over due. The staple center is in the same complex as the Los Angeles convention center and can be seen off the 110 harbor fwy. ![]() Honolulu, Oahu, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 One of the most famous beaches in the world! I like going to Waikiki in the early morning before everyone gets there to greet the sunrise. it's very peaceful when your not surrounded by hundreds of tourist. But in all honesty i prefer other beaches which are less crowded, like Sandy beach or Makapu'u. When you visit the islands you come to experience the real Hawaii. Don't get pulled in by all the tourist traps, venture out and make your own adventure. remember to always be respectful to other cultures and there way of life. The thing i hate the most are those tourist make all other tourist look bad, you know the kind...the obnoxious, rude , loud moron who ruins it for all of us. One final thing...Take Pictures and leave only foot prints...Aloha ![]() Huntington Beach, California, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 Duke's in Malibu make me feel like i'm back in Waikiki. The Food is GREAT at a Great price and that fresh ocean breeze is like no other. Can't get any closer to the Duke's in Waikiki then the Duke's in Malibu! Try the Ahi Burger..Great! ![]() Las Vegas, Nevada, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 Not bad, but i would rather go to the Caesar palace shops...more stuff to see Or even the Outlet stores just north of the strip off the 15...bargains bargains bargains! ![]() San Francisco, California, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 You have to try the Ghirardelli Sunday...it's fantastic..not too sweet, but just delightful. I like the fact that there are shops inside the complex and it's only a few blocks from the main Warf area. Park in the street...it's cheaper than the parking garage, just watch your meeter...and dont forget the parking brake. ![]() West Yellowstone, Montana, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 I loved going to Yellowstone. There is just so much to see and take in. Can't believe that all i say was unaltered and straight from mother nature. I love seeing the hot springs and all the geysers. The best part of my trip was to see the water falls...you feel so small in this world when you stand there in awe. I was glad to see that new trees are growing after the fire they had years ago. I suggest taking a map or GPS when going thought Yellow Stone. I went on a bus tour , but we ran into a lot of lost people. Also Pack some snacks and alot of water, you never know how far your hike will be so be prepared. If your not camping in the park, make sure to leave before sundown..it gets dark...really really dark and help getting lost is not fun at all. have fun and wear good shoes..no one to impress, but your feet. ![]() Hale'iwa, Oahu, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 That's easy, the Hale' iwa Surf shop and Matsumo store for some Shaved ice! You can't forget the great beaches ( Sharks Cove for snorkeling, Banzai, Sunset beach) The North shore is a COMPLETE opposite from Waikiki. It's More Chill and most def a place to slow down and Live Aloha. ![]() San Diego, California, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 I love going to Coronado Island. First off it's not really an island, but that doesn't matter its still a great place. The first thing you want to do is go to the Beach right in front of Hotel Coronado. It is a beautiful , clean and safe beach. If your really wanting to get away , but not to far away you should stay for the weekend or even one night. I heard there is a haunted room at the Hotel Coronado...spooky. If you love to ride you bike along the beach , well you may have found the mecca of all beach riding trails out there. The bike paths stretch for miles and in some cases you will find your self all alone...thats how long the paths are. If your looking for a great place to eat try Peohe's, it's on the other side of the "island" which is about 2 miles if that. It's sorta like a Hawaiian Fusion restaurant....Try the Onion rings made from sweet Maui onions! Love em! Not only do you get a great meal, but if you sit out side you get a great view of downtown San Diego. ![]() Santa Monica, California, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 The only time i go to the Santa Monica Pier is when i have friends or relative from out of town who want to go sight seeing. The Pier is nice if you haven't seen it before. there is a Vintage Carousel, a small amusement park with a few rides and some shops and eateries. It's great to take a few photos and maybe grab something to eat at Bubba Gumps, but that's about it. Going to the Pier at night is alot better then in the day time. The Ferris wheel is lit up and the cool ocean breeze feels alot better. Just be aware of your surrounding and try not to wander around the dark areas under the pier, not trying to scare people, but there are alot of weirdos out there. ![]() Boston, Massachusetts, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 I am not a fan of the Celtics, I'm a DIE HARD LAKERS FAN, but i was impressed with how easy it is to get to the garden. you can take the "T" (there is a station in the garden) you can park some where near Quincy for like $11 and just walk or just get dropped of. The traffic can sometimes be a pain, but over all impressed with how easy it is to get in and get out, as compared to other arenas. ![]() Huntington Beach, California, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 Huntington is a great beach to have bondfire! the fire pit's are limited so pick straws and some one from your group can get there early to save the spot. The beach is very clean and the law enforcement is really stepped up during holidays and weekends so no funny business. The beach does close at 10...i think...and the police and life guards do push you out...and they will give tickets...like i said they dont mess around. ![]() Long Beach, California, United States ![]() Added Dec 4, 2009 If your in the LBC you want to check out the Queen Mary, it's like stepping back in time.Check with your hotel or even online for admission specials. You also want to check out the town center and hit up Lucille's restaurant. The Best SOUL FOOD i have ever had! ![]() Anaheim, California, United States ![]() Added Dec 3, 2009 The first thing that comes to mind when you hear Anaheim is of course DISNEYLAND! Both Disneyland and Cal Adventures are both great parks. California Adventure is a bit smaller and (when i went) has less crowds. The midway is the best there , great games and prizes. If your staying in Anaheim, don't get a rental. Most hotels offer free shuttle service to and from the parks. ![]() Honolulu, Oahu, United States ![]() Added Dec 3, 2009 Great place to shop!
