The good selection in the menu, the excellent quality of the food, the charming waiters, and cosy indoor environment, all add up to make this my favourite restaurant in Stratford! It has also given me some of the best Indian food I've ever tried.
I've been to a lot of restaurants in Stratford, and this is the one I would definitely go back to, and of course recommend to everyone on Geckogo:)
I have been here at a number of occations, and I have always been met by a staff that is making great effort to make their guests feel good! The food has always been excellent, and the reception classy. 5 stars!
The tourism office in Katwe offers guided tours around the lake. This is really recommended, because you'll hear everything about how they produce salt, the health risks of working in the concentrated salt lake, and the importance of this lake for the people in Katwe.
Ask for Nicholas when you get to the tourism office. His guiding is really good. I still remember in details what he said a year after being there!
This is a place right by the highway where you can stop and get a coffee! The coffee they serve is good, but the place is messy and didn't look very clean. It doesn't even have a place you can sit down and enjoy your coffee! They could easily have turned this place into a nice place to relax because the shop has quite a bit of open floor space. And with some cleaning, this place could have gotten three stars!
I was there in 2007, so hopefully something has happened there since then!
This is a lodge located in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It's luxury all over, and the prices are quite a bit higher then Ugandan standard, but coming from a high cost country it's still somewhat affordable. This is not the place you go if you want to meet the locals. Even parts of the staff here are not locals. If you don't want to spend the night here, it's possible to come here during daytime just relax by the pool and eat good food. It costs about 20USD for breakfast and for using their amenities. Not sure if lunch also is included.
The lodge is in a really good shape, clean and exclusive. Instead of paper towels in the hallways bathrooms, they have towels that you dry your hands on and then throw 'away'. Service is a keyword for this place. Everytime the bathroom in the hallway has been used, someone will go in there and clean the floor and sinks, and even fold the tip of the toiletpaper to make it look nicer.
The food here is exclusive! It's usually buffets serving foods that sometimes looks like pieces of art!
Mweya Safari Lodge is quite a contrast to the village nearby where some people only can afford one meal a day, the houses don't give enough protection against wild animals, and the village suffers from lack of clean water. Please keep that in mind when you enjoy the luxuries of Mweya Safari Lodge!
It's Scandinavias biggest water-park. Offers a lot of fun stuff to do for everybody! If your in the area, it's well worth taking at least a day off and visit this park.
This is a great place to stay. Only a ten min. busride into Oslo. It's cheap, clean, a friendly atmosphere, and the food is really good! It's location is right by the sea. There isn't a beach there, but still possibilities to go swimming.
Make sure you spend the entire day here. It's worth the time ten times! As you walk through the park you'll be presented for the cultures of a variety of the islands in Polynesia. You can learn the hula-dance in the Hawaiian part or you can watch a water show on the river. Be sure to eat dinner in the park before you go to the luau!
It's a cozy, old-school grocery store. It doesn't have a great selection of food, only the basic necessities. However, it has the charming athmosphere of the old traditional stores, that there is very few left of in Norway. It's definitely worth a stop if you're passing by!
This is a campground where you can bring your tent and stay for an affordable price. The campground provides a place where you can do your laundry, a kiosk and possibly a restaurant. It's an awesome beach there with possibilities for renting a canoe or a pedal boat
This is where students hang out. It's entrance is hidden, so you would have to have somebody showing it to you the first time you go there... It's an awesome place with a great atmosphere!
This is actually a convent where tourists can stay. It's run as a hostel with a dining hall.. They make one dish each day, and it tend to be the same every day. I would recommend to eat somewhere else once in a while. The service is good, and the gardens are awesome. They are big, green and has a lot of flowers. Quite a contrast to the street just outside of the gate. This is a typical backpacker-place; it's safe and cheap! Check out http://www.amaniconferencecenter.org/index.php
