Don't have much money, but when I do have some extra, I pour it into travel. There's nothing quite like seeing how things are when you're many miles away from home. I also enter contests and sweepstakes to try to win trips, and have been successful twice - got to go to London and Paris on one such trip, and to New York City on another occasion. Just this past March we won a trip to Hollywood, CA. What extra fun to go someplace for free!

Lots and lots of stair climbing, so if you have trouble with your legs, watch out. I still loved riding the tube, though. It's the very best way to get from one place to another. Inexpensive and fast.

I was merely 18 years old, traveling with a group of other teenagers, when I saw Michelangelo's David. I was in awe, no other way to put it. It is HUGE, and perfect, and beautiful. What came out of my mouth wasn't exactly what I meant....I said, "I just want to reach up and touch it!" Now, teenagers being how they are, they thought I meant "IT", David's naked male part. The laughter echoed throughout the building. But I really did want to reach up there and touch it. The statue, I meant!!! If you ever go, you'll see what I mean.

Once in the top of the arch, I remember I wanted everybody to spread out so not too many people were on just one side. I was positive it would tip over if this spreading out did not occur!

I'm terrified of heights, but strangely this didn't scare me. I felt very safe in it. We went in the daytime, and it was great, but next time we're going at night. It IS a bit pricey, but like others have said, worth it. We got excellent photos and even made a couple of friends in our "car". Speaking of the car, it was MUCH bigger than I had imagined. You could have a medium to small party in there.

Bring your camera, and if it's raining, a poncho. On a pretty day, there are several beautiful photos to be taken. Don't worry if you're not fit enough to dig for the sapphires. Buy a small ($25) or large ($45) bucket and sluice the dirt through the flowing water until you run out of dirt. If you find a stone, it's yours! The place has a man called a "cutter", who will cut your sapphire into a mountable stone for $35 for the first 5 carats plus $5 per carat after the first 5 carats. In order to see the "star" in the sapphire, choose a round, not an oval, cut.
