I did the "water of the gods" bath. You wash up thoroughly at the stations next to the hot spring, then you can get in the hot spring. It's pretty, clean, fresh feeling, and has nice running water from an attractive fountain-like statue in the middle of the bath. Very relaxing.
This onsen is the one Hayao Miyazaki based the bath on, for the movie Spirited Away. You can see similarities! No stink spirits, though.
Tore Tore is a restaurant on the second floor above an organic grocery store in Nagasaki. You go through the grocery store and up the stairs at the back to get to the restaurant.
I don't know the address! I can tell you that it's in the shopping arcade near the Shianbashi stop of the streetcar line. I believe the arcade is 1 block to the north of the streetcar stop. You go to the left (turn at the Mister Donut) and go about 300 meters. It will be on the right.
Excellent food, many vegetarian choices (although it's not all vegetarian), and yummy mochi balls with sweet bean sauce for dessert. Castella, the local specialty cake (much like pound cake), is available for desert. The whole buffet plus tea for only 1000 yen (as of 10/15/08). What a deal!!
