I travel because:
it makes me feel alive.

Perfect meal:
Moroccan tajine in the Sahara Desert.

Never travel without:
My camera (except when it's been stolen! RIP Canon in Koh Phi Phi and Olympus to the "Happy Jus Thief" somewhere between Pangandaran and Jakarta....and yet another Canon in Aqaba, Jordan)

I wish they invented:
Some kind of indestructable watch or bracelet with a built-in memory card to keep (immediately updated) copies of all your pictures in case your camera is stolen (yes it's sad, but over a year later I'm still a bit bitter about it!)

Last thing I broke:
Bag.

The thing I always forget:
Always something different.

Travel inconveniences I could do without:
Thiefs.

When not traveling I'm:
dreaming about travelling.

I first discovered my love for travel at age 12, when I traveled to Australia for two weeks as part of a group of 40 "student ambassadors." It was my first big trip (first time really away from home without my family) and my first trip abroad, and it left with me a sense that if I could do that, I could do anything!

Since then I spent two weeks in Spain with a small Spanish class in high school, and then I really got to spread my wings in college. I spent my spring break freshman year volunteering in Iquitos, Peru; a semester in Florence, Italy my sophomore year; a semester in Bangkok, Thailand my junior year; and a summer interning in Sydney, Australia. During and in between each time abroad I spent as much time traveling as possible. I backpacked Europe with a couple friends (even trekking down to Morocco to visit the Sahara - AMAZING!), explored Southeast Asia with friends and solo, and did my own round of New Zealand.

After graduation I did a three month solo trip through South America, from Argentina to Ecuador (including one of my lifelong dreams of visiting the Galapagos). I then spent Christmas and a couple cold winter months in Sweden, softened by an unbelievable (in many different ways) one week trip to Jordan.

Now I'm in Australia for a year, doing the whole Work & Holiday thing. Currently based in Sydney but hoping to try living in a few different places (either Perth or the North, or maybe both, plus a possible stint in the Outback just for the experience) once my contract is up here.
