I live in the UK, have been for the past two years. Before that I resided in Ireland which will always be where my heart is. I live to travel. Since as young as 2 months old I have been jetting off around the world. Initially I didn't stray much farther than Spain and Germany, but these days I try to at least get away once a year a bit further afield. This summer I went to California which I absolutely adored. I also managed to to spend a few weeks in Finland. All in all, a successful summer I'd say!
Absolutely huge. It's a place where mostly toursits go because many of the Thai people simply cannot afford to shop in there. As a result it's generally extremely quiet in there, like having your own private mall! Lots of great restaurants, pretty much any shop you could want and in a superb location. The shops aren't especially cheap, certainly compared to the rest of Thailand, they're much more like western prices. That said, it's certainly worth taking a look around.
Wat Pho is certainly one to see. Until you actually see the reclining Buddha, you won't believe it. It's absolutely massive! But on top of that, and probably one of the main reasons that I visited this temple, is the Thai massage you can get there. It's apparently the second best massage that you will get in Thailand. I didn't try the so-called "best place" so I don't know whether this is true, but I certainly enjoyed the massage that I received at Wat Pho. There are two locations where you can receive the Wat Pho massage. One is on the grounds of the Temple, there are generally enormous queues for it so it is best to get there early. Also there is no air con, so this might prove to be uncomfortable. The second spot is a few blocks away, there are directions at the first spot. I would argue that this second location is better because it is not normally as busy and they have air con too. While the massage at Wat Pho is a bit more expensive than elsewhere in Thailand, it's incredibly worth it because you know that you are guaranteed to receive a top class massage.
If visiting Galway, this is simply a must. Especially on a sunny day, this place is picturesque to say the least. Salt Hill is the area of Galway, just on the outskirts of the city, which is next to the sea. There is a long promenade which is very enjoyable to walk along. There is also an indoor waterpark and outdoor funfair further up the promenade. Claddagh is a district of Galway where they make the world famous Claddagh rings. There are numerous shops there where you can purchase these rings, certainly a special souvenir to take home.
I can only speak from experience, but I went to see 'O' and it absolutely blew me away. It truly was a spectacular sight, unlike anything I had ever seen before. The costumes, the colours, the music, simply perfect in every way. The shows are quite expensive to see, but completely worth it if you're visiting Las Vegas.
Considering the limited amount of land that the Pleasure Beach has, they sure have made the most of it. There are absolutely bundles of rides there including at least 4 rollercoasters. The theme park is located right next to the beach and on a sunny day it really is beautiful. The Pleasure Beach contains what was the largest rollcercoaster in Europe not so long ago - certainly one for thrill seekers. But there are of course numerous rides for the younger guests too, so noone will feel left out. Additionally, if this does not prove to be sufficient excitement, there is an iceskating rink within the grounds and an indoor waterpark just across the road. A guaranteed fun day or so out!
If ever you find yourself in Cambridge, punting on the River Cam is an absolute must! It's not terribly expensive and it's very enjoyable, especially on a warm day. It really feels as though you've gone back to old England, surrounded by really old buildings that seem untouched by time.
If you're visiting the Costa del Sol, this is a must! It's a theme park located near Malaga in the neighbouring town of Benalmadena, Arroyo de la Miel to be specific. There are absoultely loads of rides, from rollercoasters to water rides, pretty much everything you could want in a theme park. What makes the place so special is how they have landscaped the place. There are lots of fountains and ponds, peacocks wandering around minding their own business! There are some terrific eating places there, as well as numerous shows, dancing and there's even a large outdoor concert theatre where famous Spanish acts play frequently. Entry costs are reasonable and once you get inside you can decide if you would like an all ride pass or simply to pay for individual rides. This is certainly a place where fun may be had for all the family, guaranteed!
It can be seen from miles and miles around, much like a smaller version of the Eiffel Tower. I would certainly recommend visiting the tower as there is surprisingly a lot to do in there. You can take the lift to the top of the tower where you can get a fabulous view across the town and beaches that go on for miles and miles. On a fine day you can even see Southshore in the distance. Inside the tower shows are often held there, circus acts and dances. There is a most stunning ballroom inside, a kinds adventure zone, eateries. Certianly an enjoyable day out to be had for all.
A really old friary, now in ruins located in the centre of the town, therefore incredibly difficult to miss. It costs a few euro to get in and it takes about half an hour to see all there is to see. It is also possible to get a guided tour which I haven't personally done but hear is worth doing. There is also an old Franciscan church located a few minutes walk from here where the Franciscans reside today.
Located on the outskirts of Tralee. It's fun for all the family with various water rides, swimming pools, wave machines. Definitely an exciting day out.
Located just on the edge of the centre. About an hour's worth of interest within the museum. It consists of various displays of the different animals that inhabit Finland today and also animals that lived there in the past. There are some very life-like looking creatures indeed. Extremely interesting to visit, particularly if you are interested in wildlife. On Thursdays evenings it's free entry aswell.
The main street in the city centre. It has hundreds of shops, many of the big chain retail outlets. There are a number of very good department stores there. Also you will often find street entertainment, such as music, dancing, art work displays. Additonally, around Christmas time, the street looks incredibly festive. Worth checking out!
Absoultely huge. You can literally spend hours upon end here. We hired a guy to drive us around for the day taking us to all the ruins. We would spend a few hours in one spot, he'd wait for us and when we're ready to move on he'd drive us to the next place. Absolutely well worth visiting. If you happen to be in Thailand anyway, it's a good idea to try tie this in as it's not so far.

Until you actually see it in the flesh, you won't believe your eyes. It's enormous! You can pay to go up, they have lifts and stairs for the very brave! Once you get to the top you find yourself with a wonderful view over Paris city. It's probably best to go up there during the day because at night time you really can't see much except for lights. Nevertheless, well worth a visit.
UCC is the main university in Cork. It was also rated best university in Ireland several years in a row. The campus itself is beautiful with an old courtyard located right next to the river. There's a lovely river walk which passes by the art museum The Glucksman Gallery which always has some very interesting exhibitions on. There are some lovely coffee shops dotted around campus and there's always a really great atmosphere wherever you go.
The Burren Activity Centre is very worth a visit. It's located right in the middle of the burren which, if you haven't been there, is something you must visit. It's incredibly beautiful and unlike anything you will see elsewhere. The centre does various activities for interested parties. They do kayaking on lakes in the Burren, also they do climbing, full instructed for beginners. A very fun day out for sure.
Well worth the trip. Outside of the castle there are lots of old outhouses with medievel schools, homes etc.. which you can go inside, sometimes they can even be interractive, for example the school, they might have a teacher inside who will get you to do some simple arithmatic. The castle itself is wonderful and as other people have said here, they do this wonderful Medievel Fiest which is fantastic. All the staff dress in medievel costumes. You sit at these long wooden benches. More food than you can imagine, mead to drink, entertainment...it's truly a night to remember. Finally, outside of the castle there are a number of interesting shops including Blarney Woolen Mills if you wanna buy yourself a nice Irish woolen jumper!
If you're nearby, this is a must visit. There is certainly a jam-packed day ahead of you there. There are some exhilerating rides including the Jurassic Park themed water ride and the Mummy 2 ride. Additionally there is the new Simpson's ride. The studio tour is a must as you get to visit sets from dozens of movies and tv shows you know and love. There are also some fantastic shows to be seen. My personal favourite was by far the Waterworld show. It's absolutely spectacular.
Very impressive indeed. All sorts of creatures to see, some that you can even touch. The aquarium is divided into sections, so if, for instance, you were afraid of jellyfish, you could avoid that section completely! It is definitely a place for the family though. I went there alone and felt that I was perhaps a little too grown up for it. I'm sure that the experience would have been far more magical if I had been there with my children. Nevertheless, very beautiful with amazing views over the sea. Truly spectacular!
I was sceptical about going but ended up having a blast. I don't even gamble! The amount of hotels there is gobsmacking and each and everyone of them is individual in its own way. The lights are incredible, there is simply nothing else like it. It's well worth catching at least one show while there, in particular Cirque de Soleil. I saw 'O' - it was truly breathtaking. The hotels are incredibly cheap there, you really feel like a million dollars. Finally it is definitely worth tying in a trip to the Grand Canyon while there.
Touristy for sure, but certainly if you're in SF anyway, it's a must. There's lots to do there, shows, shops, bars and restaurants. Also there are sea lions...what more could you want!
Very beautiful trip to take...by car! My other half made the mistake of cycling it, he managed by my was he exhausted afterwards! There is lots of wildlife on the way, squirrels that will come right up to you in the hope you will feed them...sea lions really close to the shore. A real treat!
Well worth booking a flight over the canyon if possible. Includes a bus trip to the best view points, a movie about the history of the canyon and lunch of course!
Well worth the visit as there are many things of interest in there concerning the history of Finland. They do English tour guides and it's certainly a good idea to take advantage of this. They also have student price tickets, so remember to bring your student id!
Quite impressive on both the inside and outside. A wonderful place to get married, apparently. Also the view from the top is supposed to be excellent although book in advance. I didn't and couldn't see it as a result.
